AFS TOTW – Aubameyang, Sow & Wakaso star

The AFS Team of the Week goes on a break for the international week but not without stand-out performances from Africans as most major leagues enter the business end.

The Africa Football Shop team welcomes no fewer than six newcomers to the AFS TOTW from as far out as Russia & Portugal.

Ghanaian goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey may have been snubbed by Avram Grant for the internationals this week, but he was in great form for Portland Timbers as he kept another clean-sheet in the MLS.

Egyptian Ahmed Elmohamady comes in at right back after a great performance for Hull City in their loss to Chelsea. The experienced Dany Nounkeu returns to the AFS TOTW after helping Evian to a needed win over Montpellier and keeping a clean sheet in the process. Alongside him is the Senegalese Cheikhou Kouyaté who played a starring role in defence as West Ham secured maximum points against Sunderland. Togolese Jordan Amavi makes his AFS TOTW debut after an outstanding performance as his Nice side beat championship chasers Lyon away from home.
